Time to Give the South Loop a Fresh Coat of Lipstick, or Surfacing
The South Loop is getting some much needed resurfacing starting Tuesday night (June 20) at 7 p.m.
The resurfacing will go from Slide Road to I-27 as well as some needed repairs at the West Loop and 34th street.
From TxDOT:
Work to resurface the major intersections and turnarounds is up first on the construction schedule, to minimize the impact to traffic on this busy roadway, the majority of intersection work will take place overnight, but nighttime traffic should still expect lane closures and detours.
The work will start around 7 p.m. and is expected to wind up by 6 a.m. each morning. TxDOT is expecting the work to be completed sometime in September.
So pay attention to the road, signs, etc. and SLOW IT DOWN in the construction areas. (Remember: Fines double if you get pulled over in a construction zone and workers are present.)
