This made my day!

The Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival is a Lubbock tradition. It took a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic and actually was virtual last year. I was about to write about how it was one of Lubbock's Best Things Ever (which it is) when I reached out to the Lions themselves.

I have made it my personal mission to be at every Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival. You'll always catch me on the very first grill on the very first shift or two. I don't care if I need to cook in a mask; if they do a festival, then I'm in.

The event is pretty easy to describe to newbies. For one day, you get all you can eat pancakes, sausage, and orange drink or coffee. You can add some bacon, treats or other items for an additional charge.

I feel like the Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival is the one time that Lubbock really comes together as a community. Ball games are great and everything, but having breakfast (at any time of the day) with your friends and neighbors is a truly special experience.

I've reached out to the Lions to find out if we'll have an event this year, and I received a surprisingly prompt answer: WE ARE ON FOR FEBRUARY 19TH, 2022! The event will be back at its home in the Lubbock Civic Center.

The Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival truly represents the best of who we are as a community and for that reason, it truly is, one of Lubbock's Best Things Ever.
