Monday night in Lubbock was the perfect night for some good tunes with one of the most iconic bands in music history: The Beach Boys.

The show was amazing, and fans of The Beach Boys and special guest star John Stamos were singing, dancing and thoroughly enjoying the music and atmosphere at a packed City Bank Coliseum.

One of the highlights of the show that had the entire audience laughing and cheering was when Mike Love introduced the song, Be True to Your School.

Showcasing photos of cheerleaders on the giant screen above the stage, the band elicited screams of approval and hundreds of guns up when they showed Texas Tech cheerleaders -- and no small amount of jeering when Texas and Oklahoma cheerleaders were shown.

Lubbock is definitely true to its school!

There was also a bit of good-natured ribbing between Love and "part-time" band member John Stamos, including a take on a 'your momma' joke that had the packed house on the floor laughing.

Stamos, who's currently starring on two TV shows (Grandfathered and the Netflix exclusive Fuller House) played a series of dates with the band. Mike Love explained to Awesome 98 that the band actually goes way back with the actor -- all the way to when he played Blackie Parrish on General Hospital.
