Summer is finally here and usually I am excited for the Summer Blockbusters. This year I'm not so sure kiddos. There might be plenty of good this summer with "Bad Teacher", "Friends With Benefits", "Transformers 3" and others but there is definately a ton of bad on the way with the following lack luster movies for Summer 2011. Check em out:

The Smurfs Movie: When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours, in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes: An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

Final Destination 5: Survivors of a suspension-bridge collapse learn there's no way you can cheat Death.

Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World: A mother returns to her old profession -- she's a retired spy -- in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time.

Conan The Barbarian: A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

The trailers should tell you all you need to know. Yes some big actors are in them but "The Smurfs"? Really? Summer Bummer if you ask me.
