Texas Two Step Like a True Texan To These 5 Country Western Songs
When you step foot into any Texas bar, especially a country western one, you are likely to see the dance floor full of folks doing a certain iconic dance.
Country music is playing, the strings twanging and the bass kicking, as lovers, friends, and even acquaintances embrace and shuffle along the floor. This is the Texas Two-Step, the best-known dance in the Lone Star State.
Texas Two-Step Dance
If you grew up in Texas, then you are likely familiar with the beloved quick step shuffle. There are many variations of two-step, but the Texas Two-Step is one that every Texan is proud to dance to.
Some like to show off with flashy tricks and turns, others prefer to sing along and glide, beer in hand. No matter how you like to two-step, it is a grand ol’ Texas time.
The real debate here is what the best songs are to dance the Texas Two Step to are. We picked out five of them

Hank Williams began playing the guitar at the age of 8, made his radio debut at 13, and formed his first band, Hank Williams and his Drifting Cowboys, at age 14. He would become a true country western music legend.

Never Danced the Texas Two Step Before? Inspired?
If you’ve never danced before (and you are of-age), I highly suggest checking out your local country western bar and observing the folks on the dance floor. If you get the courage, go ahead and ask someone to teach you, I’m sure they’d gladly oblige.
You can also search for local dance groups in your area. For example, Social Dance Lubbock is hosting Two-Step lessons just next month, May 2024.
