Texas Tech outfielder Dru Baker is playing really good baseball right now. Not only is he playing solid defense at his corner outfield spots, but he's also mashing the ball at the plate. Every pitch Baker has seen in the last two weeks has looked like a watermelon, and he's been Gallagher.

Back to Baker: for his efforts on the diamond, he's been named the Big 12 Player of the Week for the second week in a row. He's the first Big 12 player to earn back-to-back honors since 2016. The Red Raiders owned the award in March, with Jung adding another back on March 8th.

This weekend, Baker went 10-for-14 in the three-game sweep of South Florida. He also led the team with five RBIs and had at least three hits in all three games, all while leading the conference in on-base percentage and stolen bases over the weekend.

Baker is in the top three of nearly every batting statistic in the Big 12. He's on a streak of 10 games with a hit and has seven consecutive multi-hit games. Nationally, Baker’s 42 hits this season rank second in the country, and his .442 batting average ranks eighth among those with at least 50 at-bats this season.

The Red Raiders get back on the field against Kansas State in Manhattan on Thursday, April 1st, 2021 at 6 p.m. in the first game of a conference series that wraps up on Saturday.
