Texas Tech Baseball Defeats FIU In Shortened Mid-Week Matchup
On Tuesday morning, the Texas Tech baseball team took on FIU in what was supposed to be a double-header, but due to impeding weather was shortened to just a one game series.
Texas Tech used a strong 4th and 5th inning to build a lead that FIU was not able to come back from as the Red Raiders would pick up the win by a final of 9 to 6.
Erikson Lanning got the ball for the Red Raiders, lasting two and a third innings, giving up only one earned run off of two hits. John McMillon would come in after Lanning and pick up the win, moving his record to 2-2 on the season. Clayton Beeter would enter the game in the 9th inning where he pitched a scoreless inning, picking up his 8th save of the season in the process.
Cameron Warren continues to swing a hot bat as he finished 2-5 with 5 RBI in the contest, and also scored a run. Dylan Neuse finished 3-4 in the ball game also with an RBI to his credit.
The Texas Tech baseball team will have the week off for finals before finishing the regular season at Rip Griffin Park against TCU on May 16-18. Currently the Red Raiders are sitting in 2nd place in the Big 12, just a half game behind Baylor.
