The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office SWAT team assisted Slaton Police in the arrest of a man who assaulted 2 officers and refused to leave a residence for almost 4 hours.

39-year-old Antonio Garcia allegedly entered a residence in the 800 block of South 8th Street in Slaton in violation of a protective order. Garcia was asked to leave but he refused. He stayed in a shed that was on the property.

According to KAMC News, Garcia refused to leave the shed, and that's when the LCSO SWAT team was called to help.

At around 8:45 a.m., officers were able to forcibly remove Garcia from the shed, but he assaulted 2 officers in the process. The officers apparently only had minor injuries.

Garcia was arrested for assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, burglary and violating a protective order.

Garcia was checked out of a local hospital then booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
