Rose McGowan has been formally arrested for possession of a controlled substance two weeks after she claimed a related police warrant was a means to stop her from speaking out against male toxicity and sexual harassment in Hollywood.

According to Us WeeklyThe Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office booked McGowan Tuesday (November 15). She took a mugshot and was ultimately released on a $5,000 bond.

A warrant was first issued for her arrest for felony possession of a controlled substance in Virginia in October. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department confirmed she had left behind an item at the airport that was ultimately confirmed to host traces of a narcotic.

McGowan had publicly accused disgraced film magnate Harvey Weinstein of rape just before the warrant was issued, noting to a crowd at The Women’s Convention "I have been silenced for 20 years. I have been slut-shamed. I have been harassed. I’ve been maligned. And you know what? I’m just like you."

McGowan tweeted in light of the warrant just days later, noting: “Are they trying to silence me? There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia. What a load of HORSES---.”
