A robbery at a business in South Lubbock led to a police chase and eventual crash.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police were called to the 7400 block of University Avenue for reports of as robbery. This was a bit after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd. A hit-and-run call had also come in nearby around the time, and officers determined the robbery suspect was responsible.

At around 12:14 p.m., employees of the first business were notified that a second location in the 2100 block of 50th Street had also just been robbed. This was while officers were still on scene.

Soon after, police located the suspect, now identified as 20-year-old Ladarian Wheeler, at 19th Street and Avenue Q. Wheeler fled and led officers on a brief chase. It ended when Wheeler crashed into a fence, a carport and a tree in the 900 block of 46th Street. No injuries were reported and Wheeler was taken into custody without incident.
