A vehicle pursuit that started in Southern Lubbock led to the arrest of a Lubbock man in the Northern portion of town. On Monday, March 6, the Lubbock Police Department responded to reports of a hit-and-run in the area of 114th Street and University Avenue. When police arrived to the scene they only discovered the vehicle that had been hit which fortunately resulted in no injuries to a person.

KAMC news reports that Lubbock police officer's were able to locate the vehicle and driver of the vehicle that fled the scene all the way at the corner of 50th street and University Avenue. That's when law enforcement tried to initiate a traffic stop but were unsuccessful when 31-year-old Adam Earls fled from police forcing a vehicle pursuit.

After some time a spike strip did have to be used in the area of 10th Street and University Avenue in an attempt to get Earls to slow down. Earls eventually made his way, on punctured tires, to an apartment complex in the 3200 block of 4th Street where he is said to have hit a police vehicle and regular vehicle on purpose.

Earls was finally detained in the 600 block of West Loop 289 and did put up a fight with police as he was arrested, all of this occurred in less than an hour. As per the publishing of this article, Earls currently remains in custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center on six charges totaling a $150,000 bond.
