The human remains found Friday in a Lubbock backyard have been identified.

KAMC News reports that LPD Chief Greg Stevens confirmed that the remains belonged to Zoe Campos Wednesday during a press conference. Campos was 18 years old when she went missing in November 2013.

Lubbock Police charged 25-year-old Carlos Andrew Rodriquez with murder after he confessed to killing Campos and then led police to the body. Chief Stevens revealed that Rodriguez became the prime suspect "a few months ago."

Campos' cause of death has not been confirmed by the Medical Examiner's Office. However, Rodriguez said he "placed Zoe Campos in a ‘rear naked choke’ and strangled her until she was dead" according to his arrest warrant.
