Lubbock police possibly found a human bone in a backyard of a home in the 1900 block of 70th Street.

Police say they received a new lead in the 2013 disappearance of Zoe Campos that led investigators to the home.

On Wednesday, November 7th, new investigative leads on the 2013 disappearance of Zoe Campos led investigators to a home in the 1900 block of 70th Street. Based on that lead, additional resources such as cadaver dogs were brought in from an outside agency to assist with searching the back yard. A bone was located by Lubbock Police Department investigators and the area was secured. Multiple units including LPD crime scene investigators, LPD forensic specialists and investigators with the Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office have assisted with the investigation.

At this time, the findings and that specific area remain an active part of the investigation. LPD will continue to search the area for possible evidence.

Zoe Campos disappeared on November 17, 2013. She was 18 at the time.
