Phillip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead at 46 With Needle in His Arm

The Oscar Award winning actor and father of three was found Sunday dead in his New York Village apartment. An apparent heroin overdose sources are saying.

Police officially responded to the home on Bethune Street at 11:36 a.m. and found Hoffman lying unconscious and unresponsive on the bathroom floor. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A source said he was found alone with a needle in his arm in the bathroom of the apartment. Police sources said two bags of heroin were found at the scene. They were not empty, sources said.

Police are investigating and the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
