Ex-KCBD Reporter Indicted for Hit-and-Run Crash
Patricia Villacin, a former TV reporter for Lubbock TV station KCBD, was indicted this week for a September hit-and-run crash that left a man seriously injured.
Villacin was arrested after an incident where she ran over 24-year-old Taylor Hammond's leg while driving a station vehicle. A grand jury has now indicted the 23-year-old TV reporter with a third-degree felony charge of failing to stop and render aid.
Lubbock police arrested and booked Villacin following the accident, but she was later released on a $5,000 bond.
Hammond filed a $1 million lawsuit against Villacin, KCBD and its owner Raycom Media Inc. The lawsuit was settled out of court.
