The Texas Tech Police Department confirmed an armed robbery that occurred early Monday morning, September 13th, outside a campus dorm.

At around midnight, Texas Tech Police responded to an armed robbery on the north side of the Clement Residence Hall.

Initial reports indicate a female student was approached by a vehicle with multiple people inside. A man exited the front-passenger side of the vehicle with a gun and he stole the student’s backpack. The suspect was wearing a black surgical-type mask and a hoodie. Three other individuals inside the vehicle were wearing hoodies with the hoods pulled tight around their faces.

The suspects then fled the scene eastbound on 18th Street.

The suspect vehicle is described as a 2008 white Chevrolet Suburban with Texas license plate PLH 2353. Upon further research, authorities discovered that the vehicle is not registered to a Texas Tech student.
