One Killed in Crash on US 84 South of Lubbock

At around 5:35 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, August 20th, one person was killed in a 2-vehicle accident that occurred on on US 84 about 3 miles south of Lubbock.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says that a van was was pulling out of the Coors Plant onto US 84 as a 2012 Hyundai Sonata was traveling northwest. The Sonata ran into the back of the van.
The driver of the van, 24-year-old Ryan Salinas and the passenger, 25-year-old Isaiah Matthew Sandoval, both of Lubbock, were uninjured, but the driver of the Sonata, 42-year-old Juan Gabriel Luera of Slaton was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's said that Luera was not wearing a seatbelt.
