Metallica couldn't have been any better to Lubbock than by choosing our fine city for one of two locations to perform in Texas on their WorldWired Tour in March. But they were so much better than a band just rolling through town to put on a show and sell a ton of merchandise.

Stories of their generosity and thoughtful good deeds seem to keep popping up around town, and The RockShow on 94.5 FMX are incredibly proud to have been a part of packing the United Supermarkets Arena for the Super Bowl of Lubbock concerts.

Metallica took time out during their visit to donate an impressive $10,000 to the South Plains Food Bank, but did you know that they also donated a boat load of food to Catholic Charities of Lubbock? Yep, they did!

Long live these Legends of Rock!
