Lubbock’s RC Custom Boots Shop Gained Thousands of Followers

A Lubbock business has recently gained some popularity on the video-sharing platform, TikTok.

RC Custom Boots is a shop in Lubbock that does what their name suggests, makes custom boots. It is a successful shop here in the Hub City that does some beautiful work.

The shop made a TikTok account at the beginning of 2021 and started posting videos showing behind the scene footage of the boot-making process. Everything from cutting leather to adding soles, these videos are a very cool look into how these custom boots are really made.

They have gained around 26,000 followers and a total of 114,800 likes on their videos. Two of their videos even have over 1 million views each.

It's awesome to see local, family-owned shops like this share their craft online and receive so much love for what they do. You can tell how much love they put into their work, and they deserve all of the positivity they have been receiving.

In 1962, Ruben Cobos (RC) started a boot-making business in Mexico called La Reyna Del Arte (The Queen of Art). His small shop with only two employees grew into a full business with 35 employees making at least 80 boots each week.

Following his success in Mexico, some of his family came to Lubbock and tried selling some of their boots at a local market. They caught attention at high-quality work boots, and were able to open the RC Custom Boots storefront in Lubbock in 2006.

It's important to support local businesses, and it makes me happy to see a family-owned shop like this one gain a following online to share the passion they have for their craft.
