Lubbock’s Pride Festival Returns Earlier Than Usual This Year
Once summer comes around there are a few big events here in Lubbock that are on many people’s minds. We have the iconic Fourth on Broadway, a variety of Comic Conventions, the Lubbock downtown Farmer’s Market, and more.
One that I am going to spotlight today is the Lubbock Pride Festival.
Usually taking place in August each year, LubbockPRIDE is mixing it up by hosting this year’s festival in June. Specifically, June 10th, 2023. The event will be hosted in Lubbock’s Depot District at Buddy Holly Ave and 18th St.
This is a great way for the Lubbock LGBTQ+ community to come together, celebrate, and enjoy a special event curated just for them. It is also especially fitting to move the festival to June because it is Pride Month.
The festival will host a variety of performances, vendors, and activities throughout the day from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. You can find a full schedule of events on the official LubbockPRIDE website, but some of the highlights include drag shows, cosplay contests, musical performances, and more.
LubbockPRIDE says:
“Lubbock Pride is thrilled to be back for the annual festival that combines exhibitors, food, and activities for a day of fun and celebration in the name of love and equality! The Festival brings together locals, families, sponsors, community leaders, local business owners, and amazing talent performing on the stage.”
The festival is free and open to the public. So, take this as your chance to come together with the community, celebrate your uniqueness, and enjoy the Lubbock Pride Festival 2023.
