Lubbock's The Brewery LBK (1204 Broadway Street, #104) is truly something special.

It occupies a beautiful space inside Pioneer Hotel, a historic downtown building, and offers unique and exquisite drinks that are beautifully packaged and presented. From seltzers to cocktails, they cover the spectrum of handcrafted local libations, but where they really shine is their signature beers.

I'm not alone in my analysis. In fact, The Brewery LBK has just been named the Best Brewpub in the Nation, according to USA Today's 10best.com.

This wasn't just a popularity poll. "A panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote," USA Today said.

The Brewery LBK placed on the strength of their signature beers:

The judges recognized several selections as favorites. The uniquely Lubbock Doc Chilton is a refreshing ale with lemon intensity that cuts through the West Texas heat, making it the quintessential Lubbock cocktail. The house favorite LBK IPA, an easy drinking west coast style IPA, and the Breakfast Brown Ale were also recognized and previously placed among the top in its category at the Great American Beer Festival 2019 in Denver, Colorado.

In spite of having the best main stable in the race, The Brewery LBK is also known for their exciting small-batch selections, of which I am a huge fan. They are always clever, unexpected yet perfect, exactly what I didn't know I was desperately thirsty for. And if you're not a big beer drinker, their hard seltzers are the best in the game.

The Brewery LBK is a rare and wonderful thing indeed because their brewmaster is rare and wonderful. There are very few women brewmasters, and certainly, none of them are quite as cool as Sally Taylor, who we totally invented a category around during our Townie Awards:

Not only is she painfully cool, but she's also already thinking ahead for the next big thing:

“The Brewery LBK would like to thank our wonderful family of supporters who helped make this happen and who continue encourage and support us on a daily basis,” said Head Brewer Sally Taylor. “Being the sole brewery in Texas to make the final list was exciting but taking the top prize is more than we could imagine when we began this journey. This is just the beginning and we hope to continue serving our community for many years to come.”

Congratulations, Brewery LBK, you've made Lubbock so very proud.
