33-year-old David Jerome Delce, a former security guard for a Lubbock game room, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his involvement in a robbery that happened outside that game room in December of 2017.

The victims of the robbery said that they were leaving work in the parking lot outside of the game room, located in the 3500 block of Slide Road when a man approached one of them and hit them in the back of the head with a firearm 3 times. Security video shows the suspect running to his vehicle after taking money from the victim. The second victim, who wasn't injured, had her purse stolen.

That second victim said that she thought the first victim was being picked up, as the suspect got out of his vehicle to attack her.

3 people were said to have been involved in this attack, one of which allegedly pointed an AR-15-style rifle at one of the victims while they demanded her cell phone and wallet.

KAMC News reports that the defense tried to argue that Delce, who was one of the 3 arrested, was set up, but the prosecution claimed that the defendant was the insider and was working with the other 2 who were charged. Police said that Delce talked on the phone with one of the other suspects before the robbery happened.

On top of this, surveillance video presented in court showed the other 2 suspects going directly towards the main victim but ignoring Delce. Prosecutors said, "They didn't try to attack him, they just let him be."

The cases against the other 2 suspects, Dexter Lavander Braziel and Xavier Rashad Draper, are still pending.
