Lubbock Man Leads Police On High-Speed Chase That Ends In Crash
A Lubbock man was arrested on Saturday, June 18th after he led police on a chase that ended in a crash.
KAMC News reports that an officer saw 38-year-old Micky Anthony Lozano's SUV get onto South Loop 289 at Indiana Avenue. The officer says the SUV swerved around another vehicle on the on ramp, failed to signal across all 3 lanes of traffic, and accelerated at a high rate of speed.
The officer attempted to pull Lozano over, but he sped away. It's said that the officer chose not to pursue.
Later in the day, the officer saw the same vehicle in the 1100 block of 82nd Street. There, the SUV collided with the back of the patrol vehicle and sped away. This prompted a high-speed chase that ended with Lozano crashing into a mailbox and a parked camper in the 1500 block of 79th Street.
After crashing, Lozano got out of the SUV and ran, but police caught up with him and took him into custody. He was then transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center and booked on a $10,000 bond. He wasn't listed in jail records as of Tuesday, June 21st.
