Lubbock Man Accused of Assaulting Both His Girlfriend and Officers

On Sunday, September 12th, 2021, a Lubbock man was arrested after it's said that he assaulted two police officers and his girlfriend.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock police officers responded to the 5300 block of Kenosha Avenue at around 12:45 a.m. for reports of a burglary and assault.

A neighbor told police that the suspect, Gleb Kondratiev, had jumped over a decorative wall to get into his girlfriend's home. She told police that he was choking her before police arrived, and that she had beforehand filed a protective order against him.

The girlfriend, who wasn't identified, gave police permission to enter the home, but it's reported that Kondratiev wouldn't open the door for officers.

Eventually, police were able to enter the home and found Kondratiev behind a restroom door, refusing to leave. One officer was able to kick the door down, but Kondratiev is said to have continued resisting arrest, refusing to be handcuffed and even shrugging off being tased.

Police say that Kondratiev was being "assaultive towards police officers," so one of the officers punched him in the side of his stomach multiple times to restraint him.

Kondratiev has since been charged with burglary of a habitation, stalking, assault on a public servant, violation of a protective order and resisting arrest.
