Lubbock Lions Kidsfish is happening at Maxey Park on April 25th, 2020 and this annual event promises a "relaxing morning with your family teaching them about fishing and respecting the outdoors."

This event is free for kids up to 17 years of age and is sponsored by the Lubbock Lions Club and Cabela's. This is the 7th year that KidsFish is in Lubbock and part of the fun is that Texas Parks & Wildlife Department will waive the fishing license requirement for adults to fish with their kids ONLY for this event from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Maxey Park will be stocked with Channel Catfish, which, in community ponds, there are no minimum size requirements to keep what you catch. However, you can only keep up to 5. All other fish caught must adhere to size requirements and bag limits are set by Texas Parks & Wildlife. See Outdoor Annual app or Texas Parks and Wildlife website.

Free food will be provided with registration. The lake will be stocked with channel catfish ready for your family. There will be poles to borrow, free bait, free raffle prizes, and prizes for the biggest and smallest fish caught! You can pre-register and learn more about the event by clicking here.

Organizers ask that even if you pre-register, make sure you still check-in at one of the two registration tents for your goody bag and wristband for lunch.
