The weekend is officially here and it is time to start planning what you want to spend your time doing. Whether you prefer to spend time with friends, your significant other, family, or alone, there is always something happening in the Hub City that you are bound to enjoy.
Starting with Friday, the 24th, There are a few shows you can catch. There is Fairview at The Edge: A Company of Fine Arts, (I)SLAND T(RAP) at the Lubbock Community Center, and Nunsense at CATS Playhouse. All of these shows run throughout the entire weekend, so you can catch them Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Another event that starts this Friday and continues through Saturday is Lubbock-Con. This is a family-friendly convention taking place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. One of the highlights of this event is that one of their special guests is an actor from the Twilight Saga movies.
This Saturday also has a variety of options depending on what you are interested in. There is the Wolfforth Farmers Market which takes place every weekend, as well as a Black & Brown Art Market taking place at the East Lubbock Art House.
If markets aren’t your vibe, there will be the Matador Mascot Reveal Party at Two Docs Brewing at 5:00 p.m.
Lastly, Social Dance Lubbock will be hosting a Cha Cha class starting at 6:00 at the YWCA Sun ‘N Fun. This class does not require you to have a partner and is a great way to meet other people interested in dancing here in Lubbock. The lesson is followed up by a dance party to practice your moves, and snacks and refreshments will be provided.
