Kid Cudi Gets Emotional While Talking About the Death of His Biggest Fan [VIDEO]

Following the death of Ben Breedlove, a young fan whose struggle with a congenital heart condition ended with his death on Christmas Day, rapper/producer Kid Cudi released an emotional statement:

“I am so sad about Ben Breedlove. I watched the video he left for the world to see, and him seeing me in detail, in his vision really warmed my heart. I broke down, I am to tears because I hate how life is so unfair,” to quote the hip-hop mega-star in a post on his Tumblr site.

Cudi learned of Breedlove thanks to a pair of YouTube videos where 18-year-old Ben discussed his condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and related a near-death experience during which he saw a vision of Cudi. “I was looking at myself in this mirror … I couldn’t stop smiling … I was proud of myself, of my entire life, everything I have done. It was the best feeling,” wrote Ben in a series of notes he holds up during his videos.

“This has really touched my heart in a way I cant describe,” wrote Cudi at his site. “This is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much. Life is really f—ed up sometimes, but I know Ben is at Peace, and I hope he gets a chance to sit and talk with my Dad. We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me. To Ben’s family, you raised a real hero, he’s definitely mine. You have my love."
