Katy Perry Becomes the First Twitter User to Reach 50 Million Followers
Katy Perry is officially the queen of the Twittersphere. The pop star has become the very first Twitter user of all time to reach 50 million Twitter followers.
That's right. 50. Million.
Perry first became a driving force on Twitter when she surpassed user Justin Bieber as the most followed user back in November. At the time she had around 46.5 million followers.
800,000 of her followers she gained in the last week alone -- perhaps because of her gothic performance of 'Dark Horse' at the Grammy Awards?
Justin is currently close on Perry's heels with 49.2 million followers, but being the second user to have 50 million followers just doesn't sound quite as impressive.
Sorry Mother Monster, but it looks like your reign is officially over!
