Janet Jackson Marries Wissam Al Mana in Secret Ceremony

It's official! Janet Jackson is a married woman. After weeks of speculation, the R&B icon confirmed that she has married Wissam Al Mana.

"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony," the couple revealed in a joint statement given to Entertainment Tonight.

"Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities," they added. "We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet."

Janet and Wissam didn't share the actual day they officially wed. The couple were engaged in December 2012, after two years of dating. "I'm fortunate enough to be dating my dream woman," said Wissam, who is a Quatari billionaire. Janet concurred, saying, "We have a deep bond, a deep connection."

This is the third marriage for Janet, who was previously married to René Elizondo, Jr., from 1991 to 2000, and James DeBarge in 1984.
