Midland Police Department To Host 1k & 5k Event

The Midland Police Department will be having its MPD Pursuit 1k & 5k Run this weekend.  Set to take place in the heart of Midland, this event promises to bring together appreciation for the men and women of the Midland Police Department, along with bringing together community and family fun.  Aside from that, it is a great way to get moving and to get some exercise, whether you decide to walk or to run.

The race is a way to honor the hard-working men and women of the MPD while also connecting with the general public in a positive, engaging way.  However, the festivities do not end at the finish line. After the race, everyone is encouraged to stick around for the MPD Exhibition.  A demonstration from different aspects of the MPD, such as SWAT, K-9 demos, crime scene unit, bomb squad, plus more! However, the best part of the event is that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Basin Dreams Center, a local organisation that is dedicated to helping at-risk youths and families in the Permian Basin.
