Alright, Alright, Alright

McConaughey's big breakout was when he appeared as Wooderson in Dazed and Confused.  It is said that Richard Linklater met McConaughey in an Austin bar and later offered him the part in the movie.

Before that, he had appeared in tv commercials, a movie called My Boyfriend's Back, an Unsolved Mysteries episode, and was cast in Trisha Yearwood's video for Walkaway Joe.

Since that original performance, McConaughey's career blew up, and he has given us some of the greatest movies and romcoms including How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, A Time To Kill, The Wedding Planner, EdTV and Dallas Buyers Club, just to name a few.

He has won many awards including, multiple Golden Globes and an Academy Award for Dallas Buyers Club.

He is also active in community initiatives and has considered running for Governor of Texas.

Matthew McConaughey also has ties to the Texas Panhandle and it was once rumored back in 2011 that he had bought a house in Amarillo, and was planning on a moving here.  However, that never came to fruition

Now Matthew McConaughey has become a staple in the landscape of Uvalde, other than being born in this Texas City.  He is now literally a part of the landscape.

Uvalde has some new roadside attractions and McConaughey isn't the only one changing the landscape, Dale Evans and the band Los Palominos all have lifesize cutouts.  The cutouts were created by artist John Cerney.

Where is it located?

Matthew McConaughey's cutout is located on the east side of Uvalde at the intersection of FM 2389 and US 90 (Main Street).
