Two Lubbock Teenagers Charged With Attempted Capital Murder
Two Lubbock teenagers have been arrested as of Wednesday after being accused of assaulting 67-year-old Paul Curran. Curran was allegedly assaulted following an attempted car robbery in the 500 block of Nashville Avenue.
According to a report from KAMC, Lubbock Police officers were called to the area and learned that two suspects identified as 17-year-old Zion Perez and an unnamed 15-year-old were attempting to steal a car belonging to 78-year-old Carolyn Batteas. According to Lubbock Police, the suspects assaulted Batteas and then assaulted Paul Curran who was a bystander.
The suspects left the scene and were later found near 19th Street and Birch Avenue.
Perez and the 15-year-old were arrested and charged with Attempted Capital Murder and Aggravated Robbery.
Lubbock Police say that Batteas was transported to University Medical Center and had moderate injuries, Curran was not injured.
