Snow Headed For Lubbock and The South Plains This Week
While Monday's warm weather might set some records across the South Plains and other parts of Texas, but just because we've had beautiful warm weather lately, doesn't mean winter is done just yet.
Weather forecast show high temperatures in the 50's for Lubbock and the surrounding areas on Wednesday and Thursday, but even that's not bad for late February. But what will happen late Wednesday into Thursday morning is what a lot of people will be looking for.
According to KAMC's Ron Roberts, there is a possibility of snow for Lubbock, the South Plains, and even into parts of the Panhandle.
In a post on Facebook, Roberts pointed to a forecast model showing two snow events that would be developing along the cold front late Wednesday into early Thursday. Of course with snow, nothing is guaranteed and any snow event won't likely cause major disruptions or even be on the ground for very long.
According to KAMC's forecast as of noon on Monday, there is a 10% chance of snow or a wintery mix on both Wednesday and Thursday. This weekend appears to be another beautiful weekend with highs in the mid to upper 70's.
