It's true. This is the very last issue of Lubbock's Mugshot Monday (possibly).

But Why?

Simply put, as a staff, we believe in the premise of 'innocent until proven guilty'. Over the previous year, we have struggled with the ethical and moral dilemmas that come with posting mugshots.

With the presence of Lubbock County Mugshots, we have often wondered if it was necessary or just that we continue to give arrestees another dimension to be found guilty in the court of public opinion.

After a staff meeting where we discussed the future of mugshots, we have decided to bring it to a close (for now).

The Future

Is this the end of mugshot galleries? Maybe yes, maybe no. We do have something up our sleeve, we're in the middle of testing something out. We want to make sure that it aligns with the intent of the legal system and our own values as a media outlet.

Stay tuned!

And Now The Mugshots

These 49 mugshots are of individuals arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center during the week of April 15 - April 22, 2024. The individuals charged should be presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. All arrestees featured below are those charged with a felony offense. A felony offense is classified by the severity of punishment, ranging from the low level state jail felony all the way to a capital felony. Also featured are any individuals who were held on a Fugitive Warrant or Detainer, a United States Marshall Remand, or Immigration Customs Enforcement Detainer.
