It seems like one of the most important things in Amarillo is the food. That thinking is not too far off. Whenever we talk about places that open or close in our area, those are the important topics people notice. We love seeing new places open. We hate to see places close. We get it's the circle of life, but we are much happier with the openings.

Luckily, we recently had a new place open in Amarillo. The location has been there for years. It was Sports World, then it closed. It reopened and also had a restaurant, Mesa, which didn't last all that long. That is going to change now.

Sports World is opening for the season on the 15th. The speakeasy, Tommy Guns, opened on New Year's Eve. The puzzle is finally getting its last piece: a restaurant where you can stop in after a game, or just because. They opened their doors late last week for a soft opening and officially opened this weekend.

From Speakeasies to Sports: The Three-Tiered Experience

The restaurant is called Putter & Pint. It is the perfect addition to Sports World and has completed the picture. So now there is a place to take the family for fun in Sports World. There is a place to have dinner after in Putter & Pint. You can also leave the kids at home while you have a drink in the basement at Tommy Guns.

The Ultimate "Parent Hack": Dinner While the Kids Play

This is a game-changer for parents who want to let the kids play but don't want to travel too far away. They can now drop them off for a game or two at Sports World, and they can escape for a great meal. They won't be too far if the kids need them. This is a perfect win.
