Lubbock Puppies Left To Perish In Dumpster Get a Second Chance At Life
I try not to judge people too harshly, as life is hard and we all get dealt rough hands sometimes. However, I am about to judge the absolute heck out of someone and I think you will, too.
Someone left a box full of puppies in a dumpster behind a local Lubbock business in a plastic storage container- that was duct taped shut. The puppies could have easily suffocated, starved over time, or been killed when the dump truck emptied the dumpster.
All heartbreaking outcomes, and I'm sure the puppies were terrified.
Luckily, the puppies were discovered at 3 a.m. on April 6th by an employee of the business. The employee saved the puppies, took them home, and cleaned them up.
Now they are currently in the very capable and dedicated hands of the Haven Animal Shelter (4501 Farm to Market Rd 1729) which luckily had room to take them in. Most Lubbock shelters and rescues stay at or near capacity most of the time.
Look at their sweet faces. Again, I am so angry and upset that anyone could do something so heartless to such innocent creatures.
Of course, the puppies will need homes as soon as they are a little older. If you'd like to adopt one of the puppies, I recommend reaching out to The Haven. In the meantime, there are many other puppies and dogs of various breeds, ages, and sizes available now at The Haven and the Lubbock Animal Shelter. Every adoption saves a life- as it makes room for another baby to be taken in.
The Haven is a nonprofit organization and needs our continued support to operate. You can donate money, supplies, and of course your valuable time to help these sweet babies.
And please remember to spay and neuter your pets. Lubbock has a huge pet overpopulation problem that is easily solved by responsible pet owners doing the right thing. It is a myth that one litter is "good" for a female pet, in fact, it can increase their risk of cancer, and birth complications can kill them.
