Something’s Brewing: Lit Brews Prepares to Open Its Doors in Lubbock
A brand-new coffee shop is on its way to the Hub City. Lit Brews, a locally owned concept, is preparing to open its first location in Lubbock. With a focus on rich, artisan coffee and an indie bookstore vibe, the new spot is already stirring excitement among Lubbockites eager to check out a fresh addition to the city’s café scene.
What Sets Lit Brew Apart from Other Lubbock Cafés
In addition to having coffee drinks, Lit Brews will also be a bookstore (get it? "Lit" as in Literature?), promising a cozy place "to sip, study, browse, or breathe, our space is designed for you to slow down and savor every moment."

Personally, I've missed what I would call a "90s coffee shop" vibe, which this seems to be giving- not a bustling, nearly fast-food type shop, nor just lines of laptops. A place to actually hang out and possibly meet people? How delightfully old school! Reminds me of Daybreak, which was open in Kingsgate back in the day.
When and Where Coffee Fans Can Expect Lit Brews to Open
Lit Brews is set to open later this month (September 2025) and has recently revealed its location as 3501 50th Street, Suite 124.

I love to see fabulous new concepts emerge in Central Lubbock, which doesn't get enough recognition for its awesomeness.
Lit Brews Commits To Community
In addition to carrying local authors' titles, Lit Brews also announced they will carry other local goods: "We’re also excited to share that we’ve partnered with talented local authors, creators, and small businesses to bring unique and awesome products to our store. Stay tuned for more! Thank you for being part of our journey."
Welcome to Lubbock Lit Brews! I'm excited to sip and savor a good book there soon.
