The Holidays are here and for some of you this is a stressful time. Disapproving and judgmental in-laws are on their way, an impossible wish list from the kiddos and the hope that your credit card does not get cut up by a zit faced 16 year old at the mall are just some of the realities of Christmas.

Well don't be the only Grinch in the house. Do what I do and hit the booze early! Seriously, here are some great Holiday Cocktail Recipes the will help you take the edge off of the family and the other "traditions" of Christmas that make you want to pull your hair out and shoot the reindeer!

Egg Nog:

Here is the Christmas classic that you can pre-mix and make both with and without the alcohol just for the kiddos.

This makes a little over two quarts.

  1. 2 cups milk
  2. 6 eggs
  3. 1 cup of sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  5. 2 cups milk
  6. 3/4 cup brandy
  7. 1/3 cup dark rum(or bourbon)
  8. 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  9. 2 cups of whipping cream

Refrigerate all the liquids and get them very cold before you mix this one up. Beat the eggs until they’re very frothy. Add the sugar a little at a time, then the vanilla and nutmeg as you continue to mix. Next fold in the whipping cream, milk, brandy and rum.

Throw it back in the fridge until your ready to serve. Throw in a sprig of mint and a stick of cinnamon to garnish and enjoy.

Non-alcoholic version?  Same recipe, same method just leave out the alcohol.

Here is one that will leave you wanting more: The Poinsettia
This one is perfect when hosting a party and Champagne is on the menu but your not ready for your family to down a $1000 of you bubbly.

The Poinsettia:

  1. Champagne
  2. 1/2 ounce Cointreau
  3. 3 ounces cranberry juice

This one is so easy, and it will cut your champagne bill in half!  In a champagne flute pour your favorite champagne add your juice an Cointreau and enjoy!

If Peppermint is your flava then you can not go wrong with the Candy Cane. It is simply the perfect blend of Peppermint, Chocolate and top shelf Vodka.

  1. 3/4 ounce SKYY Berry vodka
  2. 3/4 ounce peppermint schnapps
  3. 3/4 ounce white creme de cacao
  4. 1/4 ounce grenadine
  5. Half ‘n’ half

Crushed hard peppermint candy.

Into the shaker goes your vodka, peppermint Schnapps, grenadine and creme de cacao with ice. Now shake it like it was your booty, your goal being the foamy frothy finished product. Pour into a frosted Martini glass and top it off with half ‘n’ half. The presentation is as appealing as the cocktail when you dust the rim of your glass in sugar and crushed peppermints.

There you go guys. Enjoy and be safe this Holiday Season. If your entertaining or just  need to take the edge off, use these recipes in moderation and for God's sake No Drinking and Driving... Xoxo Big
