I think we are all pretty excited to see what happens for Texas Tech football under Joey McGuire.

Everyone has talked so highly of him but if you are like me you have probably never met him and want to see for yourself and now here is your chance.

If you don't already know, McGuire was a 2020 inductee into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor and became the new head football coach for Texas Tech on November 9th, 2021.

If you're a South Plains young professional and want to expand your network and support the local community, this is your chance.

The South Plains Food Bank is offering a free evening with Texas Tech Football Head Coach Joey McGuire and for attendees to learn how being a part of West Texas' newest young professionals group can help you.

The group is called Seeds of Influence and it wants to help connect young professionals with friends, leaders and more to help the community impact and engagement. The group encourages the "planting of seeds of compassion" and influence in Lubbock.

Its website says its mission is "to present opportunities that connect young professionals with peers and influential leaders to provide avenues of community impact and engagement."

The event will be held on June 23rd, 2022 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Table 82, located at 4210 82nd Street, Suite #240 in Lubbock, Texas. It's free to attend, but you need to RSVP to Shalah Smith at ssmith@spfb.org.

You can learn more about the program here.
