An old black-and-white video of Helen Keller generated a ton of comments on Reddit over the weekend.  Keller lived from 1880 to 1968. She was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Helen was left blind and deaf following a serious illness when she was 19 months old. The reason is not actually known but possibly scarlet fever or meningitis is to blame.

The video shows her speaking  which she somehow learned how to do but she explains that her biggest regret was not being able to speak normally. She says, quote,

"Longingly, I feel how much more good I might have done if I had only acquired natural speech."
