So it's time once again to hit the streets and cause some mayhem and murder as GTA 5 is out and in stores.

It's set in a version of L.A., which is called Los Santos in the game.  L.A. was recreated using 250,000 photos and hours of video footage, and you're on a map larger than both "GTA III" and "GTA IV" combined.

Kenny Loggins plays the classic rock DJ for one of the radio stations in the game.  Funk legend Bootsy Collins hosts the '80s funk station Blaxploitation actress Pam "Foxy Brown" Grier hosts the soul station . . . and hip-hop producer DJ Pooh hosts the rap station.  They've included 240 licensed songs for the game's 15 radio stations.

One of the differences in this game is that you get to switch between three different characters to pull off heists and complete your missions.  Michael is a former bank robber, Trevor is his lunatic ex-partner, and Franklin is a repo man who joins their crew.

And on the missions where the three of them are working together, you can assume control of all three characters.  A color flashes on your screen to indicate when you need to switch to each Michael is blue, Franklin is green, and Trevor is orange.

For an extra layer of authenticity, they recruited actual gang members to do the voices of the gang bangers in the game.  Some of the mini games to distract you from the missions include jet skiing, scuba diving, base jumping, tennis and golf.

The online multiplayer component of the game isn't available right away.  It launches two weeks from now, on October 1st.  In addition to the content they provide, you'll also be able to design your own races and death-match games to share with your friends.

The Rockstar Games Social Club lets you join a crew with friends, as well as track your career stats.  You can be in five crews at a time.  Social Club members also get an exclusive weapon, vehicle, and unique haircuts for their three characters.

The latest installment is full of mature content that includes, moaning during implied sexual scenes, nudity during a lap dance at a strip club, full frontal male nudity from cult members who expose their genitalia,  frequent use of the N-word and other profanity in the dialogue, drug and alcohol abuse and driving under the influence, intense violence that includes a prolonged torture scene and a brief scene of implied necrophilia.
