Former Texas Tech Baseball coach Larry Hays joined the Raiderland with Ryan Hyatt to talk about the Late T. Jones who was Hays' athletics director during his time at Texas Tech. Jones passed away on September 15th at the age of 89.

Hays talked about the coaching staff that Jones was responsible for hiring two during his tenure. Obviously Hays himself, but also Spike Dykes, James Dickey and Marsha Sharp who were all there at the same time during the late 80's and early 90's.

In addition to the hires that Jones made, Hyatt and Hays talked about the upgrades that Jones brought to the Texas Tech athletic department. Not only modernizing the way that the department was run but also seriously upgrading the facilities at Texas Tech.

Texas Tech athletics released a statement that said "Jones, born James Carroll Jones in 1931, earned the nickname “T.” early in life while growing up in Childress. He went on to earn a scholarship at the University of Texas where he quarterbacked the Longhorns to the Southwest Conference title in 1952 while earning All-SWC honors. He returned to his alma mater after two years as a military officer to join the Texas staff as an assistant coach under both Ed Price and then Darrell Royal."
