Extreme Winds Send Trampolines Flying in Lubbock [Photo]
Saturday, strong wind gusts in Lubbock sent more than dirt and debris flying.
The Lubbock Police Department shared a photo of a trampoline that flew clear out of a yard and into a roadway. It wasn't the only one police said they saw due to gusts of wind up to 63 mph. They also received a report of one trampoline hitting power lines.
Police urged Lubbock residents to secure regularly unsecured objects that may be present in their yards -- such as trampolines, trashcans and umbrellas.
The severe wind gusts didn't just relocate trampolines.
Lubbock Power & Light reported that more than 300 customers suffered power outages due to the high winds Saturday morning.
The Lubbock Police Department also said on Twitter that a traffic light outage at 34th and Avenue Q in the afternoon may have been caused by the strong wind.
