So you are going to early vote, what should and shouldn't you do?

1. Have ID

There are seven acceptable forms of identification registered voters can bring to the polls: a Texas driver's license, Texas election identification certificate, Texas personal identification card, Texas handgun license, United States military ID card with a photo, United States citizenship certificate with a photo or a United States passport. These documents may be expired up to four years. For voters age 70 or older, there is no limit on the expiration of identification.

But if you don't have one, then a voter registration card can work. There are also other allowed substitutes, check with a polling place for more details.

2. LEAVE THE PHONE IN THE CAR OR TURN IT OFF!

Your phone cannot be used while in the voting booth. No pictures, conversations, text messages, NONE OF IT.

3. Take Your Voter Guide

This is one printed item that you can take with you into the voting booth. Besides it is a good idea to have one so you can take time to decide before you vote.

Early voting runs from now until Friday, November 2nd.
