University Medical Center in Lubbock is hosting a blood drive to help with what they’re calling a regional blood shortage.

The blood drive will be held Saturday, Jan. 11th, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. inside the South Plains Mall, located at 6002 Slide Road. The blood drive center will be located near the mall’s grand court, close to Men’s Dillard’s and GameStop.

If you donate blood, you’ll receive two free movie tickets at the Premiere Cinemas theater located inside the mall, and two vouchers for free popcorn.

In order to be eligible to give blood, UMC says you must be over 17 years old, have proper identification, and weigh at least 120 pounds. If you're under 17, you can still give blood if a parent signs a consent form.

UMC says it could take up to two hours to give blood, depending on wait times, so plan accordingly. To schedule your donation in advance, visit this website.

If you have questions about the blood drive, you can call the Primary Blood Drive Coordinator, Belinda Flores, at (210) 846-6564.
