Then and Now: The Cast of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’
Ten years ago today (June 30), 20th Century Fox's film adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel strutted into theaters, offering the fast fashion-wearing masses an outrageous (albeit fictionalized) insider's peek at the world of haute couture, runway shows and fashion journalism.
The Devil Wears Prada all but solidified Anne Hathaway as a Hollywood darling outside of her feel-good post-Disney offerings, and the fish-out-of-water comedy introduced the world to Emily Blunt in a career-launching supporting role as a bitchy, stressed-out assistant. It also gave us Meryl Streep as Runway magazine's quietly vicious fashion editor-from-hell — an iconic and exquisitely-cast role which would garner the actress yet another Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Just another notch on her Chanel belt, we suppose!
Today, we look back at the cast of The Devil Wears Prada and catch up on their careers in 2016, exactly ten years after Stanley Tucci's Nigel screamed "Gird your loins!"
