After all the turkey is put away, pie filling you to capacity and the naps are over, Thanksgiving can be a boring night. Not many bars are open and for a lot of you I know that is not an option.

So what is there to do in Lubbock on a Thanksgiving day? I made a few calls and put together a list of Family fun that will get you out of the house and  perhaps burn off a few of the 5 gozillion calories you had.

Thanksgiving Day:

  • Movie 16
  • Tinseltown
  • Premier Cinema
  • Main Event -Bowling-Billiards-Mini-Golf-Laser Tag
  • At'l Do Farms Corn Maize
  • South Plains Mall- opens at 8pm but the bulk of the stores are waiting till the    12am Official kickoff
  • Annual Turkey Trot

    November 28th 2013

    When: Thursday, November 28th
Races start at 9am. 2 Mile and 12K
Where: Bayer Museum of Agriculture in Mackenzie Park - 1121 Canyon Lake Drive

The Turkey Trot features a 2 Mile and a 12K Race. The 2 Mile event is a flat out and back course except for the up and down hill at the Museum start and finish. After exiting the Museum, runners in the 12K will encounter some challenging hills but will also be rewarded with some scenic views as they make their way around Canyon Lake #6 and through Mackenzie Park. The USA Track and Field certified 12K course finishes uphill back at the Museum.
