The body of a missing Lubbock man was found the morning of Friday, December 18th.

A search party had been formed to locate 78-year-old Ysabel Flores, who was last seen almost a week prior.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police officers responded to a possible deceased individual in the 3600 block of Clovis Road at around 9:48 a.m. The body wasn't immediately identified, but after it was sent to the Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office, it was confirmed to have belonged to Flores.

It's said that Flores was in the early stages of dementia, and that he was last seen at the same bingo hall he was found behind.

Flores' family says they knew the body was his even before it was confirmed.

The exact cause of Flores' death remains unknown.
