A car was pulled from a central Lubbock playa lake on Sunday, May 31st, and a body was recovered one day later.

Just before 5 a.m. on Sunday, Lubbock police say a Nissan Rogue was seen traveling in the 3600 block of South Loop 289 when it left the access road and traveled southbound into Bill and Ann Miller Park. The vehicle submerged into a body of water.

Emergency crews were able to recover the vehicle, but the driver wasn't immediately found.

Lubbock Fire Rescue returned to the scene Monday and located the body after just a few minutes. The body was located around noon.

The body was later identified as 45-year-old Lynn Hand.
