BEWARE: Protect Your Car, Protect Your Valuables

We expect more theft around the holiday seasons, but in the middle of MARCH? Unfortunately, vehicle break-ins are still ongoing all year round. The cold hard truth is that it can happen anytime, anywhere.

Two vehicles were broken into recently close to 63rd and Frankford. Big deal, right? It happens all over town. Well, current Tech student Alexis Olguin, one of the owners of the cars broken into, isn't asking for fame. She's just asking everyone in Lubbock to be aware.

"It's turned my life upside down"  said Olguin in an exclusive interview earlier over the phone.

Unfortunately, Alexis is like many of us who probably have way too many important items tucked away in our cars. Even if they are in the trunk, they're not %100 safe.  Avoid becoming the victim.

Always be aware of where you are. Keep all valuables out of sight because if you can see it through your window, so can everyone else. Lastly, just take it out of your car. Alexis' car, along with a near-by neighbor's car, was broken into in the middle of the night in their very own driveways. So head's up! It happens anytime, anywhere.
